Abby & Mickey started as an Emerson College homework assignment. The assignment was to create an outline of a romantic comedy about two trolley companies. Once the outline was complete, Bob Hamel, playwright (and producer/director) figured he should write the story. About halfway through the first draft, he thought it needed some music, so he created some melodies and lyrics and added it to the play. After deciding to produce the play, he hired a cast, crew, set designers and composer, and the rest is history.
We produced 20 performances which were very well received. Now, we wish to make more people laugh on a weekly basis, not only in Boston, but all over the world. Because, frankly, don’t we need more humor in our lives right about now?
